Arcadia Paste Files Plug-in for Adobe® InDesign® is avaialable for
Windows and Macintosh platforms.
The Paste Files command is an alternative of
the Place command of Adobe® InDesign®. With
Paste Files you can specify the files to be
placed just by copying them to the Clipboard
in Finder/Windows Explorer you neither need to use the standard
Open dialog, nor have to deal with drag and
drop from Finder just choose Copy in Finder/Explorer,
and then choose Paste Files in Adobe® InDesign®.
Paste Files handles all the files in the Clipboard
it's not limited to a single file as the built-in
Place command.
The Paste Files command behaves differently,
depending on whether there is only one file
in Clipboard or more files.
Single File precise placing
To place a file into an Adobe® InDesign® document,
choose Edit > Copy in Finder/Explorer, switch to the
Adobe® InDesign® document and choose Plug-ins
> Arcadia > Paste Files. The file will be loaded
to the place gun, so you can place the file
by dragging (specifying item bounds) or clicking
(specifying the top left corner of the item)
same way as for the built-in Place command.
Multiple Files
To place a number of files into the document,
copy them to the Clipboard in Finder/Explorer, select
a page in the document, and then choose Plug-ins
> Arcadia > Paste Files. The files will be immediately
placed and arranged from the top left corner
of the page same way as if they were dragged
from Finder.
